  Scott J. Nelson –

Scott is a highly-adaptive business leader who has a track record of growth, optimization, and team-building in companies of all sizes. His integrity, commitment to discipline and excellence, and ability to maximize assets have repeatedly resulted in outstanding performance during a variety of business cycles. Scott’s natural external focus has positioned him as the face of the company to major customers and been a catalyst for developing growth-oriented cultures.

Most recently, he was a Senior Vice President and General Manager for Element Financial Corp., where he developed a growth strategy for penetration into a construction market and entry into the transportation market, adding significant incremental volume in 18 months.

Prior to this, as President and CEO of Premier Trailer Leasing, Scott positioned the company for growth and achieved a 40% increase in EBITDA through better management, more disciplined sales and marketing, and improved cost management. Scott also executed an acquisition that increased the size of the rental fleet by 50% to 21,000 assets and fully integrated that company onto Premier’s platform in 90 days.

Earlier in his career, Scott advanced through a series of progressively more senior positions in sales, marketing, and management at GE. He joined GE in 1991, serving in various GE Industrial and GE Capital business units, excelling in a sales management position, then becoming a national marketing manager, responsible for a $120 million group of products. From there, he became Vice President of Sales and Business Development—a role in which he achieved 23.5% compound annual growth in a flat market. After a brief departure from GE in 1999 to start up an offshore software development company, Scott returned to GE in 2002 as Vice President of National Accounts, where he received several global achievement awards and eventually became Senior Vice President of Leasing Solutions and Business Development, managing a $250MM lease portfolio.

Scott graduated from Georgia Institute of Technology with a Bachelor’s of Industrial Engineering.

  Curtis E. Sawyer –

Curt is a seasoned CFO with extensive financial and operational experience. In addition to shepherding a variety of organizations through periods of growth and change, he has also created and improved business processes in companies across a range of industries. His rigor, discipline, and sound ethics have made him an asset to organizations looking to improve both profitability and overall performance.

Most recently, Curt brought several decades of CFO experience, including expertise with cost control and profitability improvement, acquisitions and dispositions, capital acquisition, and successful management practices through times of stress and change, to his work at Premier Trailer Leasing. In addition to his role as CFO, he also oversaw all aspects of human resources and information technology at Premier. Despite capital constraints that resulted in a declining and aging fleet, Curt and the team implemented strong cost control, improved unit revenue, and reduced headcount, resulting in an improvement in EBITDA of 40% in 24 months.

During his work in the airline sector of the transportation industry, Curt negotiated and closed lease financing for $300 million of new aircraft as Director of Aircraft Transactions at Northwest Airlines. He then joined Pinnacle Airlines as the independently-managed, wholly-owned subsidiary’s CFO at the time of its acquisition by Northwest. Under Curt’s leadership, Pinnacle grew over 300% and completed a successful public offering in late 2003. Curt was then recruited by Midwest Airlines to help it succeed in the face of intensifying competition. He managed to bring down unit costs over 9%, enabling the company to successfully fend off a hostile takeover attempt by a competitor, and to sell itself to a large private equity firm.

Curt began his career at Xerox, then spent the next 13 years at Ryder in a variety of positions, including lead roles in audit and corporate planning during an intense period of acquisition. In the years that followed, Curt held senior financial roles at Renaissance Cruises and Lend Lease Trucks.

He graduated from Stanford University with a Bachelor’s degree in Economics and received his MBA from the University of California, Berkeley.
